No matter how sophisticated a kitchen is, it often serves as an informal meeting place, a nook for chatting and sipping wine while the soup is simmering and the veggies are being cut. That’s what François Marcil, president of Centres de Rénovation Marcil, created during 10 months of renovations at his spectacular chalet in St. Sauveur.
It’s welcoming, yes, but the designers at Cuisines Denis Couture also created a custom-made, state-of-the-art kitchen that even a professional chef would be pleased to hang his toque in.
When explaining what he wanted for his kitchen, François pointed to the French provincial design of kitchenware made by La Cornue, a high-end manufacturer in France. However, he wanted a modern touch, too.
