Nature on the Walls

Last spring, Wallsauce, a company that specializes in customized wallpaper murals, announced it was running a competition alongside Rise Design and Shine, an art community. The aim was to find an unknown artist who had the talent to design a wall mural collection in exchange for a royalty agreement.

Wallsauce, a producer of made-to-measure murals, delivers high-quality products to customers around the world. It has thousands of images, including illustrations, prints and photographs.

Rise Design and Shine was chosen as partner of the competition because of its goal to elevate designers, bringing lessons, inspiration and positive vibes to help them gain insights and exposure.

Designers were asked to create two mural designs based on Nature. The shortlisted designs were presented to the Wallsauce community to select the winning collection. With more than 2,500 social shares and hundreds of votes, the competition caused a stir within the art community and among the Wallsauce audience.

Wallsauce announced six runners-up who were offered an agreement to license their designs. These included the antique jungle designs by Andrea Haase, the abstract forests by Danielle Nelisse, designs by the award-winning graphic designer, Katy Clemmans, eye-catching landscapes by Tenyo Marchev, vibrant bird artwork by Yani Mengoni, and fun animal designs by Michael Zindell.

Wallsauce now has the pleasure of announcing Kelly Kratzing as the winner of its competition. Kelly’s delicate floral designs feature beautiful blossoms and colourful birds, inspired by her home in Australia. The soft pink and grey hues are feminine – ideal for walls in bedrooms, nurseries and other spaces. The surface pattern designer, who now lives in Papua New Guinea, is known for experimenting with pencils, watercolors and fine ink pens in her home studio. Her love for creating sophisticated, intricate designs is reflected in this stunning mural collection. •
