“Wow!” is the reaction the homeowner was looking for when she renovated the kitchen of her 1927 brownstone, tucked into a cul-de-sac at the top of a hill in Westmount. And it’s the reaction she gets.
It’s the second time the brownstone’s kitchen has been renovated since the homeowner purchased the property in 2000.
She was pleased with the first transformation of what was a 1970s galley kitchen, but “it was tight to work in and when I sat in the [adjacent] dining room I felt as if the walls were pushed up against my face.”
After spending months chasing after the necessary permits last year, she met with a designer to discuss her specific vision. The two did not click, so the contractor suggested she contact Isabelle Cardinal from Nouvelle Cuisine. The chemistry was instantaneous.
