Options in size, fabric and style are endless at Cameo Sofas and Sofa Beds

Ever fallen in love with a sofa only to discover that it was a bit too big for the living room? Wish it came in different fabrics or colours?
Those wishes are commands at Cameo Sofas and Sofa Beds. The Ville St. Laurent company works with clients to customize sofas in any way they wish. “We can change just about anything about any sofa we offer,” says store co-owner Natalie Madjarian. “We fulfill almost every need. We have hundreds of fabrics to choose from or clients can bring their own. If they tell me that they are restricted in size, or if they need a certain firmness because of back issues, we can do that too.”
Endless possibilities are available because the manufacturing plant sits right next to the 5,000-square-foot showroom. Close proximity between where sofas are sold and where they’re built was one of the first decisions made by Madjarian and husband co-owner Zareh Der Meguerditchian when they took over the 54-year-old Cameo brand name in 2013. They wanted to make sure their vision of quality manufacturing and personalized service remain inextricably linked.
“This is a family-owned business,” says Madjarian. “We’re very service-oriented. We’re very passionate about what we do.”
The Cameo Sofa showroom is open seven days a week during the fall and winter, and the couple can usually be found somewhere on-site. They also have in-house designers who help clients create personal masterpieces. They can also provide shop drawings so customers can see how their designs will fit in a particular space.
Many models are on offer, including sectionals, traditional sofas with wood or stainless steel feet, or an upholstered base, chair beds, and even bunk beds that close up into a sofa.
“We have a condo-style sofa that is a double-sized bed so it doesn’t take up much space and can fit in any room,” says Madjarian. “We make custom-made sheets and mattress covers to fit that bed. It’s not as thick or as long as a traditional bed.”
Four weeks after order, Cameo Sofa staff deliver a high-quality sofa directly to a client’s space. If necessary, they’ll take off the back to fit it through small staircases, and then reassemble it on-site.
The company wants to ensure that its comfortable sofas get exactly where they belong.
