Terra-cotta is a wonderful summer staple, so we especially love the feel of Umbra Shift, a funky departure from Canadian housewares brand Umbra. It launched in May. This new offshoot focuses on contemporary influences and boasts a roster of established, emerging and in-house designers who share Umbra’s passion for rethinking design.
The line made its debut at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York City shortly after the launch, taking home a 2014 Best Accessories Editors’ Award.
And it’s no wonder. The MSDS pleated vase has a self-watering base and holds plants at their optimal growth stage. The Henry Allen’s coil stool features hand-woven threads to cover a shaded rattan core. Both items make for a stylish, indoor-outdoor decor look. Other products in the new line include a carafe, floormats, candle holders and lamps.
