One of the pleasures of summer is the enjoyment of a gentle breeze in the heat. Circulating air can mitigate discomfort when temperatures rise. So a functional fan is a must-have this season. Movato Home loves the latest offerings from Fanimation, a U.S.-based company that has been in business for almost 30 years.  The company’s designs are unique and innovative, characterized by bold blade shapes and sustainable materials.

The Enigma Fan (first image, first slider) is so futuristic it was featured in the Hollywood blockbuster I, Robot.  The Enigma uses one sleek blade to produce airflow. Better still, it’s environmentally benign and has an Energy Star rating.

Inspired by the jazzy style of the Roaring Twenties, the Fitzgerald fan (first slider, second and third images) will enliven the decor of any room. With an Art Deco, speakeasy style, it is crafted to function as either a table-top or wall-mounted unit.

The Palisade (second slider, first image) invokes the ambience of the tropics. Its uniqueness is in its vertical, rather than horizontal, rotation, which is visually aesthetic.

The Punkah (second slider, second image) – the Hindi word for fan – is one of Fanimation’s first three creations. It combines artistry with functionality and has timeless appeal. The Punkah is designed to be mounted on the ceiling or a wall and can be equipped with a variety of natural palm-leaf and bamboo blades.

Modern art can create a cool breeze with the eye-catching Torto (third slider, first image), which is a perfect accent piece in a contemporary room. The Torto’s three blades encircle the fan base, creating a unique airflow pattern because, unlike traditional fans, it pushes air at an angle rather than downward.

If retro is your aesthetic, add a vintage touch to any room with the Urbanjet (third slider, second image). Available in baby blue, sonic silver, spicy red, milky ivory or black, this fan is a bold decor choice.

The Marea fan (third slider, third image) is like functional art that hangs from the ceiling. This ultra-modern fan adds a crowning, contemporary touch to a room as it circulates air with a distinctive, single white blade. A satin nickel and oil-rubbed bronze finish can coordinate beautifully in homes that are decorated with similar materials.

Finally, the Mid-century Modern Odyn (fourth slider) has a space-age look and is a great touch in any commercial or residential contemporary space. Its DC motor uses as much as 70 per cent less energy than conventional fans.
