A chance conversation in a tile showroom changed Lilly and Rick Yacub’s life.
The couple had recently taken possession of their new 4,850-square-foot Greenpark house in Brampton and were searching for just the right look. Their new home had to exude glamour and Las Vegas-style glitz. But most of all, it should have bright, eye-popping colours, none of which they were getting from their designer.
The designer had already created floor plans and presented designs for the kitchen that evoked a country ambience, definitely not the couple’s style. Lilly casually mentioned her dissatisfaction to a sales associate at Canaroma Bath & Tile and was told, “You need Esther!”
The Esther in question is Esther Tracy of Esther Tracy Interiors, a designer who listens carefully to her clients’ needs and isn’t afraid to splash out on opulence and colour. “Oh my goodness, she just gets you,” says Lilly of her relationship with Tracy. “She understands, she sits, she listens, and she envisions what you want.”
Lilly’s main instruction to Tracy was to make the design “crazy, but not too over-the-top…”
