Petto Chan and Billie Leung were living in the basement of Petto’s parents’ home when they realized the garage and carport across the backyard could be transformed into a home for them and their two-year-old daughter.
Building a home on the property, they surmised, would not only cost less than a townhouse or a condo, but would leave them with enough money to make the laneway house stylish, space-efficient and ecologically sound…
